Laptop not starting up in Windows

When I turn my computer on, a screen comes up that says Windows did not start successfully. Towards the bottom it gives me options of starting in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, Last Known Good Configuration and Start Windows Normally. None of these options work.

Re: Laptop not starting up in Windows

You are having a bios problem you need to look at your owners manual and see what key you have to hit during startup to enter bios, some you push delete, some F!, some F8, but push the appropiate key then use the motherboard manual to check the settings of your bios, all these should have come with your machine new. if bios is configured correctly and it still dont boot while in bios disable your CPU internal cache, make sure your HDD S.M.A.R.T. is enabled, and make sure that your hard drive is listed as detected in intergrated periphals , if its name and size isnt listed select detect and hit enter if it dont detect your hard drive could be bad or another problem if it does then you sre ready to use the system to trouble shoot itself. just follow the directions on the screen.

Re: Laptop not starting up in Windows

You may be able to save it with a "repair install" of your operating system.
Don't know if the Dell recovery discs allow this or not.
Before you do that though, find someone who can remove your drive a save all the DATA off of it that you might want to save.
If you have a little bit of mechanical abilty, you can by a USB to IDE adapter to plug the removed drive into a USB port on another computer and save your DATA before starting any recovery operations. these adapters can be had for under $20.
If you don't have anthing on the computer you want to save, then just insert your recovery disc and go for it.

Turn my acer aspire 3680 2022 on and get a screen that said we apologize for the inconvenience but windows did not start successfully. a recent hardware or solfware change might have caused this.then it...

It appears that the issue might be with some hardware malfunctions. It may happen due to hardware failure, BIOS mismatch or due to
static charge. Let us try the basic troubleshooting. Turn Off the
Computer, remove all the devices attached to the computer, the power
cable and battrey, now holdon the power button for 15 secs (make sure
adpater and battery are uplugged) it will drain out all the static
charge. Now, restart the computer and keep on tapping F2, you will enter
to BIOS setup utility, press F9 (click "Yes", if you are prompted) and
then press F10 (Click "Yes", if you are prompted), it will restart the
computer. If still it is not booting to normal mode, then we have to
perform a full system recovery & it is a distructive process as you will
loose all the datas on the computer. To do so, Turn Off the computer,
now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key &
keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery
console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer

Won't boot up, windows won't start successfully

In fact, your computer is restarting by itself after a problem. On Windows 98/2000 the blue screen was sitting there until you rebooted the computer. Windows Xp reboot the computer sometimes even without showing any error message. The thing is, if it reboots even if you select Safe mode, something may be wrong in your hardware (i.e. your memory or hard drive). I would bet on a memory failure but it's hard to be sure unless you boot your computer with a memtest CD, you can find it for free the internet and select your CD as booting device when the computer starts. If you cant do that yourself, you can bring it to a local computer store or anyone with good computer repairing skills. If you need more help with this, let me know

Gateway laptop mx3414-black screen cannot load windows

Try going into safe mode upon startup by hitting the F8 button. If it does then hit safe mode to get into your computer. Go to start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Follow the wizard to restore your computer to a date earlier than when you started having problems. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
