Try resetting the unit while holding down the eject button, or be sure to press the eject button several times during the boot up sequence. It may just be stuck in the unit and it may have to be serviced.

My hi-fi HCD - GZR88D system refuses to turn on,and its displaying ''mech error'' message. Please help how to fix this.

That means there is something wrong with the mechanism of the CD. The best thing you can do is look inside and see if anything is damaged or stuck in the CD unit. If the drawer doesn't come out at all, it could be that the belt that makes it move is off or broken. I should imagine that could trigger that error message.

My 2000 Land Cruiser's Cd player is stuck gives me an ERROR 3, how to fix Easily?

easily, what things complex fix easy, name it?
its bad or jammed.
1 or the other.
how does a tech know;
1;check DC power to unit. good yes, bad fuse bad.
2: remove unit and look for damage inside, debris, etc, dust, dirt.
if unit is clean and not jammed, its bad.
look for junk jammed in sensors inside unit or load mechanism jam ups
is this easy, it is to me, but others want magic?
ok magic.
take it out and blow it with clean shop air .
just look at , it, is there a broken CD in side, or label fell of?
dirty optics,?
cars = dirt, and fail fast.

clean it and pray, just about all parts on car are like that.
or replace it. as the big spenders do.

Cannot eject a disk and message on screen reads, mech err

Hi Carole,
This is an indication of mechanical malfunction. Most of this symptoms is due to dirt build up inside which caused the mechanical to stuck. The unit must take apart to clean the tray and make an air blow. Another reasons of symptoms is the faulty mechanical tray motor. Once this part is faulty the tray will not eject and will sense by the processor and trigger the error code.
If you can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to isolate the problem.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Usually this means there is a CD stuck inside of the unit. If you can confirm that there is a CD stuck in it, you will need to remove the unit and disassemble it to get the CD out, or take it to a qualified professional who can do it for you.

My in-car cdc will not eject the cartridge?.

Press the eject button several times non stop.Like 10 to 15 times non stop and see,if the cartridge is getting ejected out.If its still stuck, then disconnect the car battery negative terminal for 15 minutes then reconnect the negative terminal and heck.If still the cartridge is stuck, then its problem with internal mechanism. You will have to disassemble the unit and manually eject the cartridge out and lubricate internal mechanism.-------------- Unplug the changer and use a flat metal ruler. And slide it alongside the cartridge. try sliding on both sides. You'll eventually trigger the manual switch and it'll pop out.Bif that is also not helping then:--- solution is to disassemble the CD changer and lubricating the mechanisms inside. This is the most common problem with CD changers. Take the unit out of car and try to release disc manually.Take the screws out on both sides of player then remove case . You will be able to manually push the big gear so that the disc goes back into the cartridge. And then it slides out. After that you lube all moving parts with a teflon grease and some parts with silicon spray. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Cd door not opening

it might be a sticky mechanism inside the unit. open it up spray a little WD40 on to the tray mechanism and should work (protect laser while doing it). A REPAIRER WILL STILL FIX THE UNIT EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN OPENED

Cd is stuck inside the player. I moved the unit when decorating and now the unit will not play any cds and there is one stuck inside. I removed the casing to look inside but got scared off when I saw all...

It is safe (except for the lead solder) as long as the unit is not powered ON.
There is a "pin hole" on the front of the CD tray.
With power OFF, use a stylus (straightened-out paperclip) to push the mechanical eject button inside the pin hole. Carefully use enough force to push the CD tray out.

Wave CD changer

Could try a CD lens cleaner disc, but this will just as likely get stuck inside. Far better to contact Bose for a repair - sounds like a problem in the changer mechanism
