take off the muffler and try it there is a screen inside that get plugged up with carbon you can open the muffler to clean it

It sounds like the compression is too low to fire the engine. Try starting it off choke with the throttle trigger open all the way.

Its either sucking air in throgh a loose connection in the fuel line or the carb is stopped up. Take it apart very easy so you don't rip any gaskets, and clean evertthing with a can of compressed air blow all the tubes out real good. You may have to get a carb kit it that does not work.

But that sounds like what it is, running out of gas when you let more air to it.

Don't think you mean electric..Anyhow when adding gas for the first time start after 20years, add a pint of oil to gallon of gas. If it turns over and starts, then you can lean it down later. Google for spark plug or go to manufacturers site. good luck

check the plastic tubbing in the gas tank might need to be replaced or the primmer bulb has a pinhole in it.

There is some discussion about the proceedure in the McCulloch thread. Its a good little saw. I'm awaiting oiler parts on mine. HTH

I don't think I can help, but normal starting procedure for me is to put choke on, pull on recoil until it kicks over once. shut off choke and restart. Sounds like you have fixed almost everything & adjusted mag right. Rick

Found all the mcculloch manuals you could ever want on mcculloch product information site. Its run by mcculloch an you put the product weather chainsaw or strimmer whatever an the type in the next collum an press download then print it off all very easy. My manual was in german so made up i found stumbled on this.
