DEBBIE - Your KA Owners Manual should have numerous recipes included. If you don't have the original manual that came with your mixer you can down load a PDF version from the KA website. Paste the following URL into your browsers: address bar: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number (in your case K5SSWH), and then select Owners Manual (1)file. You'll need Adobe Reader to open and read the file if you don't already have it on your PC. Save it to your PC. Pages 16-61 have a whole range of receipes. I hope this helps, Good Luck! I rebuilt a K5SS mixer. The control plate had to be reinstalled and adjusted. Stir thru #8 work fine but #8 and #10 are the same speed. How do I get #10 to go faster. Bottom adjusting screw dowsn't seem to do much. All speeds worked fine before rebuilding mixer.

My dad's K5SS Mixer is grinding/growling Toward the rear of the machine. The more it is under load the more you hear it. When trying to identify where it is coming from it right about where the Spherical Bronze Bushing at the back of the electric motor is. I have it all disassembled and am wondering how I can tell if the bearing is to blame. There does not seem to be any galling of the bearing or shaft there. It all looks smooth. The only thing i have detected is that many of the screws in the machine were almost hand tight. and more important the very tips of the fan toward the stator are shiny like they been rubbing. But I don't see what in the bearing assembly they've been rubbing on. Any Suggestions would be most appreciated. We have a family cookie bake next week and our mixer is invaluable for it. Thanks so much for you kind attention and Merry Christmas, happy Holidays. Red
