Pop up flash will not work in low light conditions. Neither will it pop up when depressing the button at left of the lens.

This can be caused by the plastic gears binding or being broken or the motherboard needing a fix. Unfortunately it means a trip to the repair depot. It is covered by warranty if you still have any time left.
