Question about Gateway FPD1960 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I just purchased a used L13V36 monitor TV. Sometimes when I turn it on the picture is bright and normal for just a second or two. The sound works but the picture is really dark 99.9% of the time. I can see it (barely) in bright floresent light. I tried the menus setting and turned the contrast and brightness up and down. Can this be repaired or should I just chuck it out? I'm guessing it's the back light. Thanks for any response. Jake My computer is bright and I tried putting low contrast and brightness, but still kind of bright. It hurts my eyes a little.
If the backlight lights up for a second it's probably fine - It lay odds on the display inverter in the screen. Actually finding parts for anything made by gateway may be difficult, however. They do not sell spare parts. Considering the size of the LCD i bet it would almost exceed the replacement cost of the screen to repair it
