does everything besides the bottom screen seem to work properly? Insert a DS game and tap on the screen where "Play ------ ds game" would normally be. If it goes into the game then everything including your touch screen (this is a seperate unit from the bottom "picture screen" on the console) works. All that needs replacing is the screen. Repairing this unit yourself voids the warranty so I don't suggest you do it. However, I know it is expensive to send in and so I can sympathize. If you are interested in getting this fixed, email me at charlyoak@msn.com.

Does the screen light up? You need to provide more info. The fix for this would be complicated for the average person. You could trash the system by opening it and not knowing what you are doing. Most likely the screen needs replaced. Google for a local repair person as in "video game ds repair columbus ohio - or what city you live in.

My daughter has a DS Lite which works fine except the bottom left hand of the touch screen does not recognise the stylus - she has to touch the screen 3 or 4mm away from the actual point to make it work....

you could try to recalibrate the screen but unfortunatly sounds like you will have to replace the touch screen. its a very common problem.

My daughter's ds will advance screens on it's own without using the stylus or pressing any buttons and sometimes the stylus is inoperable.

makesure the the sencitivity in your DS options when you turn it on is medium. to configure, just keep touching the squares as hard as you want to touch in the game

Touch screen is blank

I am not sure which DS your daughter has. There is the DS original, lite, etc.

You can try recalibrating the touch screen, to do this follow these instructions:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/dslite/en_la/recalibrate.jsp

If this does not help, you may need to send your DS in for service. The problem may be something with the hardware where only professionals should be performing maintenance on.

Give a call to Nintendo's 1-800-255-3700 (6 am - 7 pm Pacific, everyday) Customer Service number, or use their web form ( http://www.nintendo.com/corp/contact.jsp ) to contact them, and they can set up the repair process for you.

DS Lite bottom touchscreen seems "stuck"

i think you should either get a new ds or tap the touch screen hard. if tapping the touch sreen harder does not work then that means it is time for a new ds.

Cant play any game

Is this the top screen or the bottom screen? The top isn't meant to react to the stylus.
