Need address and phone number to buy replacements

Amazon sells both the cord and the battery (CR2025). The battery is common and you can find it most places that sell batteries.

They don't have a phone number to call but you can order online.

Sounds like the battery is kaput.

Depending on the battery type, you need to manage the way it is used and recharged to maintain maximum performance. NiCad batteries hate being topped up. You gotta flatten them in the device before recharging.

Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) are the complete opposite. You charge those the first opportunity you get, and you keep them topped up. They hate to be fully discharged. It's the same for NiMH batteries.

Once the battery has been abused it's impossible to go back without the use of clever "recovery" chargers such as those expensive ones made by PAG for the broadcast industry.

Your best bet might be to replace the existing batteries in the portables and start afresh with good management techniques.

I have a GPX PDL705. I am getting a flashing battery symbol in the top left corner when I try to play dvd. This happens with cord plugged in and without. What does this mean?

if it plays ok with the cord plugged in then you might have a shorted cell in the battery.. that prevents the battery voltage from ever getting to its design value .. the charger shows this like the battery never gets charged ... removing or replacing the battery should eliminate the blinking symbol...

My GPX PD808 Portable DVD Player

The reason the DVD player shows no disc is because the laser?lens is either weak or dirty.

If it is weak, i requires replacement,

to replace it,
get the appropriate screwdriver,
Unscrew the compartment underneath the player,
carefully detach the panel and remove the old lens and replace it with a new one.

Carefully fix the panel back and close the compartment.

Test it with a DVD.

If it is dirty, then all you have to do is to clean it with a DVD lens/laser cleaner.

To my knowledge, a TruTech PVS12701 uses a Lithium-Ion 7.4v 2500mAh battery. There are no exact replacement batteries for this model. Best that you can try are batteries for some other brand of portable DVD players such as those for Samsung that has the same physical dimensions and electrical properties. Another factor to be considered is the cost of the battery. In some instances, it would be more economically reasonable to purchase a new portable DVD than just the battery. Sorry.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
