Oven model 790.49072400 sn#NF52117116 is beeping at me, with the door locked. I can't unlock it. All happened when I was trying to set the timer. clear/reset is right next to door lock.

  • oldthoreen Oct 23, 2009

Unplug didn't work. No hum. No error signal except "LOC". Not intermittent. about two years old. You might know that from the sn#. Did you even know it was a Kenmore?

  • oldthoreen Oct 23, 2009

Kenmore oven model 790.49072400 sn# NF52117116. About three years old. Door is locked. It locked when I was setting/resetting the oven timer. The cancel (i.e., correct) button is next to a door lock button. I've cut the power for several minutes, no success.

If you don't have access to a manual for this oven, don't even bother to answer.

Turn the oven off then wait for 2 minutes.then turn it on as normal after that hold the STOP/RESET button for 10 seconds.then check out by releasing the stop/reset button.if still the same problem again hold the same stop/reset button for 20 seconds.hold it bit tight pressed.then check out.if still the same problem then hold the stop/reset button again but this time press the stop/reset button randomly 10 to 15 times in 30 seconds non stop. --------- if still the problem then its the problem of door latch assembly got blocked internally to resolve it try this Turn off the circuit breaker to the oven, remove bottom drawer, unplug the power cord, open the oven door, try pulling up the oven top; (there may be screws holding down the oven top). observe the locking mechanism, the plate the latch is attached to will sometimes catch on the arm that actuates the latch. Bend the plate down making sure the latch will not hit the top of the door opening. This should solve the problem. When the arm is caught on the edge of the plate the latch will hang in the closed or mid position. With the power off and the power cord unplugged you can also remove the back cover, (there may be a top and bottom cover), remove the top cover first. Remove the screw from the arm that's attached to the locking motor (you will is the arm extending from the front of the stove to the motor). Actuate the locking mechanism by pulling on the arm to see if it will move without any obstruction. As long as the locking motor and or oven control module is not defective. --- if you require any part for the oven then you can get it from www.repairclinic.com or from www.partselect.com ------ This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Hi,

There might be many reasons for the same. First, Unplug the same for few minutes and then Turn it back ON. Check, if the problem is solved.

If not, let me know along with few details :-

1. Do you see any error message ?
2. Is there any Self Clean option in this Model. If yes, have done that before all this happened?
3. Is this a permanent or intermittent issue?
4. What have you done to fix this?
5. How old this oven is?
6. Do you hear any humming noise?

Let me know, once done.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Whirlpool loc

From a google search the following is copied:

LOC is a control panel lock not a door lock, see below.

The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the ovens.
When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and
TIMER OFF pads will function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens,
Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER
until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and
"START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds.
Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

If the above does not work have you tried removing power from the uit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

Gibson oven door is locked after attempting to do self-cleaning.

Unplug it. Plug it back in, then press n hold start. Make sure lock handle is all the way locked. You may have to push on the door at same time while locking n unlocking. If that doesn't work, shoot it. Ha

Oven door will not unlock

Hello,, Some times this will happen after a self clean cycle if the timer did not finish the entire clean. Try to set the clock to start the self clean again then simply end the self clean. This should unlock the door. If the door remains locked. You may check the oven for an error code, or the door latch itself may need to be replaced. One other possible would be to turn off the power to the oven and try to let the oven control reset. leave the power off for about 15 minutes then turn the power back on. That will sometime work aswell. Good luck and feel free to call me if you need more help.

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off. Self cleaning lock handle does not unlock

Unplug power, wait one hower and plug cord back.

That should reset the oven, if it does not, the oven timer control is clearly defective and should be replaced , you find parts here.

Kenmore model # 911.36765892 / sn BT293037Q

The lock motor may have failed. On many freestanding stoves the lock motor is located in the right rear (looking from the front) with a long rod connected to the lock. remove the motor and unhook the rod from the motor cam.

Frigidaire Electric oven model # GLEB27S7C

If you unplug the range and remove the lower rear cover on your left side you should see the motor with 2 switch's on it. There are 3 possibilitys with it. One of the switch's on the assembly is not working or the light switch for the door is not good. You also can disconect the lead to the motor and connect a power cord to it and that will unlock the door so you can check the dor switch also. if you do not feel comfortable powering up the lock motor then you should call a repair man. But one of the switches is not letting the computer know the dor is locked.
