Hi gehrlichman, my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network andI was going over your post and seen where you were asking about an externalhard drive to get the recordings off your 625 DVR receiver. To do that you willneed to upgrade to our VIP HD series receivers, if you get the HD DVR receiveryou will be able to add an External Hard Drive to get the recordings off. Iwill send a link to tell you all of what's needed.http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/use-ehd
Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network. That would be a case of remote interference. You'll need a model 6.3 or 6.4 remote. You can set it to a uhf frequency instead of an ir that will correct the issue.
Tries unplug, replug the DVR box an hour later. The box should reset itself and update it software. The box should work normal again. Not,call Dish Network to replaced the box, have intermittent problems.
Are you still having problems with your TV 2 off the 625 receiver? You have a cable off the back of the receiver, TV 2 Home Distribution. That's feeding to your TV 2 location. You might check to make sure it is secure. You can also see if that cable screws into a diplexer if it is being back feed through the satellite cables. These are all potential problem spots, especially since you said it was working before. I hope this helps.
There are common connections to each receiver but there are unique connections also depending on the receiver. Solo receivers have a coax cable coming from the Dish outside connected to Satellite In. Duo receivers and DVR HD receivers have the coax cable that comes from the dish outside that connects to Satellite 1 and Satellite 2 using a splitter. There is also a cable (coax, RCA (yellow, white, red) or component (green, blue, red - video, white, red - audio) or an HDMI if HD) connected from the receiver to the TV 1. For a duo receiver TV 2 may be backfed on the cable coming from the dish outside using diplexers. This may sound confusing but you can call 1-800-333-3474 for assistance.
If the receiver is leased from DISH Network, it specifies is the receiver is alter in any manner, the warranty is voided. If you own the receiver, you are free to do what you like with your receiver. I hope this helps.
You have indicated that you have a 622 DVR receiver, since this is where your posting was found. When you trying any of the DVR functions on the remote, do you get an error message (024 or 311) indicating that the function is not available at this time? If not, try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds from the electrical outlet. This will reboot the receiver and re-acquire the satellite signal. Once the picture returns, try the DVR function. If the problem continues, please call 1-800-333-3474; we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.
You are not able to use the DVR unless you have Dish Network services. Cable operates at a different frequency than Dish Networks Dish Pro Plus Receivers.
