Okay most of these units do this because there is a bad capacitor inside that needs to be replaced. If it is Sony KDF-E55A20 TV then symptom shows TV needs lamp replacement as existing lamp got weak in result and consume more current then its rating and causing auto off-on cycle.
Lamp replacement is easy and mentioned in user manual, click Sony Support to download user manual copy and required lamp XL-2200 is available in Sony Accessories Store.
Please buy Sony original lamp for TV safety.
