I have a sony Bravia 46" When I first turn the TV on it has vertical lines on the left side of the TV after babout 5 min they go away?

its called burn in and yes it can go away over time.
Be sure to not leave a static image on the screen (like a paused video) and leave it for an extended period of time.
playing video with high brightness and fast moving action can further help the problem go away.
