Question about Kenwood KAC-X1R Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

My Kenwood KAC-X1R hooked up to (2) Kicker Solobaric L5's

I would like to know the best way to tweak the amp without hurting my amp or my subs. The load is 1 ohm and I do have the bass control knob. I have an older Pioneer head unit with one set of rear pre-outs...looking to get an excelon head unit...preferably the X791 or X891 but haven't decided yet. I had a soundstream 500 watt hooked before and it was hitting harder. I obviously need to do something differently. Can you help please???

First get a deck with 4 volt pre outputs or more that will help a lot then a battery in the back will help like a 1000cca or more

Would a 10ZX750.1 amp be alright on a Single Solobaric L5 10" inch in a ported box???

yes, the 10ZX750.1 is capable of running two L5's at two ohms in either a ported or sealed box. Just be sure to wire it up to suit your needs correctly (if you need to know how i can help) and make sure that your box dimensions match what kicker specify. the L5 is actually one of the subs that kicker reccommend for that amp.
Hope I helped , and please dont forget to rate.
cheers

When I turn up the volume the amp shuts off and displays an E-03

do you have your subs wired down to 1 ohm? The reviews on this amp is not very good, a lot of people said they had a lot of problems with this amp, a lot of blown fuses and cant take a 1 ohm load

Just woundering if i could bridge one sub to front and one to rear the subs are kenwood w3514 dvc subs the amp is kenwood kac-x501f

Hello bigmac208,

Yes, that would be the best connection for both the subs and the amp.

I'd wire the sub voice coils in series since the amp will not be stable at 2 ohms when the channels are bridged. The power will be somewhere between 100-200 watts RMS to each sub. While it's not pavement pounding, it should provide pretty good bass, especially if you tweak the crossover and boost settings for best bass response.

Hope this helps.

How to wire up my kicker 12inch solobaric l5 2ohm to my zx500 2ohm mono amp. should it be ran in parallel or series? what is the best suggestion

Well first of all all solobarics are dual voice coil so you have 2 2ohm voice coils so if you wire them in parallel the sub will be pulling a 1ohm load wich would in time blow out your amp. So you want to wire both voice coils in series to produce a 4ohm load.

Install my Kenwood KAC-9102D in my 2006 Acura RSX Type S

You will probably need to use a Line Output Converter (LOC). They're available at virtually any shop that sells car audio.

Many times, the outputs of the OEM amplifier will have significant DC voltage on them. This could damage the input circuits on the kenwood amplifier.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

How to install kenwood kac-9102d in 2006 acura rsx

My recommendation is to get a line level converter. Go to a car audio shop or even best buy and specifically ask for a line level converter. It will have speaker wires in and RCAs out. Connect the speaker wires to the sub woofer speaker wires and then you will have the RCAs to run to your amp. I hope this helped.

u need a capacitor and a new battery. the capacitor stores reserve power to power the sub and ur old battery isn't producing enough juice for the amp so get a new one
