while the iPod is plugged in, toggle the hold switch on and off (slide it to hold, then slide it back again), then press and hold the "menu" button and the center button until you see the apple logo on the screen, if this doesn't fix it... try a different USB port (use one on the computer itself, not your keyboard or hub), if this doesn't work... restart your computer and make sure you have the latest updates for your computer, if this doesn't work... call apple at this link:
If it doesn't turn on at all when connected to the charger, the issue is caused by your logic board. If it turns on when connected to the charger, but doesn't hold a charge when unplugged, it's your battery. There is a nano repair guide that shows you how to repair it and a third party ipod nano repair service that can do it for you
