Re: clean

The DS Lite is a fingerprint magnet, unfortunately. Clean the screens with a lint-free cloth. Dampen it slightly if the smudges refuse to come off. The outside of the case can be cleaned in the same way, but since it's a glossy finish it always tends to show prints.

There are thin plastic films that you can place over your screens to help ward off scratches and smudges as well. Your mileage may vary.

Re: clean

Use a show buffer cloth, or soft felt.
I know it sounds weird, but it helps.

Rather than try to bend the pins back into place, you may have more success replacing them with a new 72 pin connector. You can find several merchants online that sell them.

Get a screen replacement online? They are quite easy to purchase and find.

If not, in thought this should work if the screen is blury from an object in the DS or something. Unscrew the screws that keep the screen in place as if you are taking it out and replacing it, and wipe the screen clean.

Game wont get past start-up screen

It could be your gameboy has something in it. One time I got a dog hair in my gameboy and it wouldn't load anything. If that's not it, try removing the game and putting it back in while checking each time if the nintendo logo is fuzzy. Some of my older gameboy games require me to keep removing the game and pushing it back in over and over until it establishes a strong connection.

The only possible fix is to try to clean the edges of the screen in case any particles are trapped between the screen and the case, this can confuse the touch screen.

Do this with a soft toothbrush, it will not damage the screen.

If that doesnt work then in all likelihood the screen is broken, it can be replaced but this is not trivial. There are guides on the internet on how do do this.
