Yes. You won't have the same graphics as you would playing a PS3 game, but you can play PS2 Games.

not all the ps3s can play playstation 2 games, if you have the 80gb, most likely you cannot play playstation 2 games, but just to make sure, check your box and if the place it says 80gb is in red then you cannot
