My sony SLV-D300P suddenly would not turn on. The blue ps button/light just flashes, but no attempt to turn the unit on works. It was working fine, without any problems, until this one occurred.

I have the same problem -- tried power reset, tried holding stop button for 5 second reset, nothing works. If I push the power button or the eject button, the blue light flashes momentarily then goes out.

Check the power supply and all the capacitors throughout the unit, i have found that this is normally the case when an item will not power on and is displaying red LEDS. Good Luck.

cnu_jilla- with this unit it sounds like your laser unit may need cleaning , take a Q-tip and lightly wipe the laser eye . this may be all you need to do,top opening units tend to get dusty.Let me know if this helps. cooltek
