Question about Dual XDVD8181 Car Video Player
I followed the instructions on crazy glue the plastic that breaks cause of the spring hence i did not use the spring i left iot out put the damm thing back together and reinstalled it in my car and guess what it worked....taking the unit apart was a bit of a hassle as i was just rushing it but it is fairly simple only one thing take care in not removing any other spring especially one that is behind the piece you have to glue back its a pain to get it back in place.....hope this helps i had my unit non working for a few months till i just said enuff' look at the pics that atroph posted they helped alot

I have two 8182s that both do this. Got fed up and took them apart. Both of them had a broken hinge pin in the back of the cd/dvd drive. There is a fairly strong spring that clamps the disk once it get inserted and I believe the tension on the spring is causing the hinge pin to break out of the plastic it is mounted in.
I epoxied mine and put a lighter spring in and so far it is holding up. Good luck if you are not VERY tech oriented. This isn't designed to come apart easily. Wish I could bring everyone some better news but I think it is a design flaw of the units.
