Question about LG (GCR-8523BB) Internal 52x CD-ROM Drive

Packard Bell ixtreme CD drive jammed.

Will not open or close. Have removed disc mannually, shut down and restarted machine with no joy.
Is this a corruption error that I can fix myself? or will I need to take it to a qualified technician

Re-attach all the cables correctly and try again.If it still doesn't work take it back to shop/technician or buy a new one,if you open it up you will nullify any warranty you might have. hope this helps.

Maybe it is not getting cool enough cause the cooling fan is not working. You need to provide more info about at which point of booting up, it gets shut down.

You need to UNINSTALL the drivers and not delete them if you had done so on the PC. If this wont help it is possible that the OS must be reinstalled after formatting of the drive and thereby the drivers can be installed.

The disc tray wont close


Try removing the CD-ROM drive from Device Manager and restarting the computer so that it will find the driver again and re-install it automatically.

Otherwise I'd explore getting a new drive. They are very cheap these days.

Drop down front packard bell how do you insert the dvd


If your trying to open the CD tray to put a CD in and you can't find or the button to open it doesnt work. You can go into the "My Computer" and right click on the CD-Rom drive and select "eject" to open it.

My pc kept freezing so I used recovery and it just seemed to crash DVD won't open to let me insert discs


This is possibly a power supply problem...goes the PC boot up OK?
