Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Spin cycle noise

I have a 3 years old Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer. In the last two weeks when the spin cycle completes, the machine makes a very load noise ( more like a load dissipating rumble) and then begins to stop. The noise is very loud and scares the my dog every time the spin cycle ends. Got any ideas?

The basket does not move up or down. However, the drum does move side to side about 1.5 to 2 inches with very little resistance.

3 yr. Ultimate II - Ours is noisy, seems out of balance and tub seems very tight, won't spin fast enough to extract water. We have taken off the top ring & agitator, but can't get the spanner nut off to remove tub. The pump impellor is clear. Can you tell us what is wrong or what to do?

the washer will not complete a cycle without becoming unbalanced regardless of the size of the load or the speed of the spin

Pull up and down on your basket to see if it has up and down play in it

i think that your inner tub is getting loose pull the center dispensor cup on the agitator i think there is a cap there pull it to then you should see a bolt remove it and take off the agitator then remove the other two peices and you will see around spanner nut thats what you need to tighten there is a special tool for this bot you could use a short handled pipe wrench try to get it as tight as you can but if you cant get it tight enough to lock the tub you will have to pull the tub and replace the spinning tub block if it gets that far then reply to me and we will go through it step by step

I have what appears to be the same problem, however when I try to remove the bolt under the cap, the wrench driver I have will not allow me to put enough torque on it...should I try and force it with a different tool?

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II spin cycle not functioning correctly

It sound like the basket is out of balance. When it spins open the lid and see if the basket is moving side to side and back to back. If so look under the deck and see if there is springs or rubber ties attached to the basket.

Excess water in clothes after spin cycle

Unblock the outflow pipe from the machine that goes into the sump under the sink. (have a pot ready for water overflow) This will help drain the water. If the spin cycle is making a screetching sort of noise then it is possible that the carbon brushes will need changing. This affects the spinning if the brushes are worn.
