"ch set" appearing on screen

I have an Emerson tv and have lost the original remote. Appearing on the screen is "ch set" and "ch 003" which is what channel the tv is on. How can I get that to not appear if I no longer have the original remote?

GuruNeed to get into the menu pages to setup the tuner. Just buy a
under $10 universal remote but make sure it has a menu button.
Or - many other products that use remotes often have an option for programing it to work with other equipment.
