When ever I request to print. It pops up that the waste ink container is full and to press reset. How can I fix this so that it doesn't keep doing it?

The waste ink absorber or "drain pack" is the large sealed plastic part that fills much of the rear end of the printer. It's either black or beige and has several vents on the top, through which you can see a fibrous material. That's where the ink ends up, and what can become full. It can be replaced, but there's no realistic way to empty or clean it as it is a sealed unit. These can be obtained from most ink sellers and cost around $15 / £10 / E12 each.

The purge unit (HP call it a service station) is a complex little mechanical assembly that sits under the carriage at the right end of the printer. It has a small rectangular hard plastic pad that collects ink from the print head during purging, and stays moist to keep the print head from drying out. This does NOT fill up, and shouldn't be fiddled with unless it's covered with cat hair. Ink that is deposited in the purge unit is transferred into the waste ink absorber.

There are a few other foam strips and sponge pads along the sweep of the carriage that also do not realistically need maintenance and never really fill up.

Once it has been replaced do the following if the error does not clear.

Reset the Error

Disconnect printer from AC power
Press and HOLD the POWER button, and connect printer to AC power
Release the POWER button
Press the POWER button again
