Control Lock light on, won't go off.

Whirlpool quiet partner IV, Control Lock light on, washer will not start. It says "press & hold" right below the control lock light, but no amount of pressing and holding seems to make a difference.

Its normal for the drain pump to run for 5 to 15 seconds and then your washer should fill and you wash pump should run if your was pump is not running and just makes a humming sound then your start capacitor may need changing see the link below this is a simple task and not expensive. I have a Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher Quiet Partner IV. GU Series. It has stopped working and there are no lights on the panel. We have checked the power supply and that is fine.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Press and hold the AIR DRY/RINSE ONLY button to reset the control, if you have already tried this and it is possible that the door was opened while in cycle then the first thing that should be checked is the door switch/lock assembly. You can take a hair dryer and try to blow air on that, if the problem returns then replacing the door switch/lock assembly is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Quiet partner IV will not start. green light keeps blinking. pushed button, nothing happens.

Hold Air Dry button down for 4 seconds and it will unlock the other buttons. Mine was accidentally locked and therefore none of the cycle buttons would work.
