Put the carrier unit back on the wall and connect the colored wires to the designated terminals.
R-Red, G-green(fan), Y- yellow and so on until they are all reconnected.
Manufacturers controls are designed to operate their units and sometime have more control options that require the extra wire you experienced with the off brand unit you purchased. Take it back and get the instruction manual out for the Carrier unit and learn to like it. If you have aZone System it is the only cotrol that will work with your system.

Hunter ceiling fan/light unit install with 3 pole switches. there are 2 white, 2 black and one orange wires coming out of the electrical box. How do i handle the installation?

Not understanding, three pole switch is a wrong switch, wires in the ceiling or wall electric box.
Needed: What switch is existing and what wires are in the switch box and runs or groups in each run coming in as wire groups. Same for ceiling box, colors and wires in each run coming in.
Basically, remove the existing ceiling fixture and connect the ceiling fan replacing the fixture to the same wires the fixture was connected to. White to white, green or bare to green or bare, colored wire to fan's blue and black. Wired like this one switch controls both fan and light, on and off at same time. Use fan pull chain switch for individual fan or light control.

Purchased state street brushed nichole hunter fan 52" with remote control installed working fine. cannot turn off and on by wall switch only remote control can this be fixed

Something got wired wrong when it was installed. The wall switch should still be able to function even with the remote control option. Especially if, the batteries were dead in the remote. Check the wiring sequence again, comparing with the installation (wiring) instructions.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I just installed a new hunter ceiling fan (model #27301) and it will not work at all

I'm going to have to ask you the same question(s) that Hunter tech service will ask, if you called them.

1. Are you certain you have it wired correctly? Hunter's color coding & installation instructions are one of the worst in the business.

2. Is the wall switch ON? In addition, is the circuit breaker for the wall switch ON?

3-speed fan switch broke on Hunter model 28072, cat. 300 fan. Found replacement switch at Lowes, but wiring colors are completely different from manual. What color wires go into L, 1, 2, 3 positions...

My Hunter fan uses a Zing-Ear ZE-268S6 switch. This is NOT a standard switch! It connects L to 2 AND 3 for medium speed. It is best to order the exact switch if possible. Hunter wants to sell you the entire bottom assembly (probably expensive). I found the exact switch online at:

http://www.kenselectronics.com/lists/switches.htm#Pull%20chain

for $6.80 plus $4.95 shipping. I bought an extra which didn't increase the shipping - worked great. Hunter ZE-268S6 ceiling fan connection colors: L=black; 3=green; 1=grey; 2=brown. If you need a different switch on their page, just click the Edit menu, then Find, type your part number in the box, and click Next.

Hunter 23852,L-black to red-hurricane speed,black to yellow-almost hurricane,black to gray-very slow,hardy moves air,installed westinghouse 6A125vac switch,same speeds,how can i get a comfortable medium...

Howdy,

Sounds like a good ol' American made Hunter Original to me. BEST and most powerful residential ceiling fan (high quality) ever made. The RPM spec is 200-160-50 for the respective speeds, moving 10,500 CFM on high speed. Most ceiling fans barely crack 5,000 CFM. they were built for Brute Force Air Movement and they really don't do well for small spaces. The best solution I have for you is if you have a Wall switch for this fan, to install a Hunter Original Wall control or remote control. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=hunter+original+control&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Both controls will lower the Medium speed to about 100-110 rpm, which should be much more comfortable for you.

Because the Hunter Original (I know your fan is an American made unit by your wire colors) draws more current than other fans, the Original controls are the only controls that are designed to work with your fan. Other controls do not have the current capacity for the Original motor.

Also, are you aware your fan uses oil?

Carrier 6 wire, installed programmable hunter ther...

Is this a heat pump? Look in the thermostat. You should have something like the following.
Red wire to R terminal
Green wire to G terminal
Yellow wire to Y terminal
White wire to W or W1
Blue or Orange wire to the O or B terminal
Brown wire to C terminal.

Let me know what you have in the thermostat. The wire colors are not always the same.

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.
