Unless you are complelty happy taking items like this apart i would suggest taking it to a local qualified computer shop or repair centre. The waste tank or absorber is a collection of all the waste ink that has ever occured when cleaning the printheads or even charging cartridges when its had new cartridges fitted.

Unfortunetly it is rarely just a case of replacing the pads or tank but also normally requires the system to be reset to prevent the printer halting altogether.
