Recently got a eco-drive BT0054-59E as a present. The instructions say it will charge from empty in under half a day in bright sunshine, but as yet mine has shown no sign of life. Does it need longer in the light, or might there be a fault?
I know what the manual says, but I have found that sometimes it can take a few days to charge.
I set mine directly under a UV lamp for at least a day to charge. I have found the PULLing the STEM OUT and setting it under a lamp to charge works the best. Try for a couple days, one day stem out another stem in.
If it still does not charge it may need a new secondary battery.
Citizen offers a good warranty on that secondary battery/ power cell and if it's just a few years old they should replace it for free.
This really is not something you should try to fix yourself as the cells are easy to mess up.
Good luck.
