Push the white paddle in three times slowly within 15 seconds. Then
wait 2 minutes. You should see the ice maker start to cycle. If the
ice maker doesn't cycle, replace the ice maker. If you need a new ice
maker, you can go to the link below
Good day, The ice maker speed of production is determined by the freezer temperature. If the freezer temperature is warmer than normal then the cycle thermostat in the ice maker will take longer to reset for the next harvest, causing low ice production. More important, the condenser fan motor running too slowly can cause the compressor to run overheated and cause serious and expensive damage. If in your opinion, it is running too slow, the issue should be addressed as soon as possible.
Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned
off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the
ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the
raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply
lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others,
you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is
in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be
between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the
ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat,
repair/replace as necessary.
check ur temperaTure in the freezer make sure it is 5 degrees fahrenheit or lower if it is u might need to see if ur ice maker tray has a crack i it to where when the water goes in to be frozen it runs out a crack and if all this is good check to see when the ice maker fills up its just not running over
- Remove the ice bucket
-Turn the ice maker off, wait 15 seconds than turn it back on
-Press the ice paddle three times, this will begin diagnostic test.
-PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ICE MAKER DURING DIAGNOSTICS
-In 3 minutes you should see the rack inside turn 360 degrees
-AND the ice maker bowl should fill with water
-IF either DID NOT work, call 1-800-GE-CARES for ice maker replacement. A
service call is approx $80. The $80 will be deducted from the
part/labor if you choose to purchase/install parts from the service
technician. If not, you will pay for the service call. Good luck.
Is there anything obstructing the fan area, ice build up ? It is normal for your freezer to get warm if evap fan is not working, it is essential for it to work :) A defrost cycle should kick on a timer or as needed (adaptive) and there should not be excessive frost buildup that it blocks your evap fan. I would have suggested you unplug your refrigerator for about 10 minutes and see if that resets your control board - if not, then you will need service - either replacing motor assembly or a faulty control board.
