Re: telephone dont work
That light is indicating that you have a phone off the hook, a short in one of your phone lines, or a bad modem. Unplug the phone line from the back of the modem. If it stays solid, plug it back in and go and disconnect every phone in your house. If it stays solid you have a phone issue. Plug them back in one-by-one and see which one causes it to start blinking. If it doesn't go away after unplugging all your phones, you have a phone line issue. If it is still blinking after unplugging the phone line from your modem, your modem is bad.

I would call your internet service provider. They may know of another trick to clear up the issue or there could be an issues in your area that is causing the problem which is out of your control.
Good Luck and vote for me if this answer helped you out.
Step 1 Ensure that your AT&TDSL self-installation kit is complete. At minimum, it should contain aDSL modem, an AC adapter, an Ethernet cable, a telephone cable, severaltelephone filters and an installation CD.
Step 2 Installthe telephone filters on each telephone jack that you have a phoneplugged into. Install a dual phone adapter on the jack closest to yourcomputer if you have an answering or fax machine, telephone or analogmodem in the same room. Then plug your telephone equipment into thefilters. Connect the telephone cable that was provided with yourinstallation kit into an unfiltered telephone jack.
Step 3 Insertthe installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. If the installation programdoes not start automatically, click Start > Run > and browse tothe CD-ROM drive directory to find the installation file.
Step 4 Connectthe telephone cable that is attached to the unfiltered wall jack to theback of the DSL modem. Connect the Ethernet cable to the back of themodem and to the Ethernet network interface card port on the back ofyour computer. Connect the AC adapter to the back of the modem and plugit into an electrical outlet. Power the modem on.
Step 5 Checkthe modem lights. There should be at least two lights lit. These willhave labels such as "Power" and "Ethernet." However, these labels maydiffer depending on the model of modem you received in yourinstallation kit.
Step 6 Completethe software installation. Enter your chosen username and password whenprompted. Check your modem to see if the light labeled "DSL" or"Internet" is lit. Open a web browser window to see if your DSL servicehas been successfully installed.
First thing to do is unplug your DSL modem and leave it unplugged for about a minute then plug it back in and see if problem is corrected. If not you should contact your ISP tech support. You could have a bad line from the phone company or bad connection in your house. Also if you have filters installed on your other phones you can have a bad filter that is causing interference and keeping yoiur DSL from working properly. You should go to "Start" > "Run" and type cmd and hit "Enter"
In the command window type ping google.com -t (Enter) This will start a continual ping. If you are getting ping times exceeding 70 - 120 ms that could be a sign your DSL is not functioning properly or if you get packet loss. That is when the ping time doesn't return a time periodically.
try resetting the browser
try to change the micro filter
turn off the modem and computer power it back and check
try connecting the modem to the main telephone socket
check if the if ur phone line works fine
after all these check the problem still continues its dsl connection problem
Make sure you have internet. The ethernet light is blinking because what ever u have plugged into it is talking to the modem. The modem will then take that request and ask for it on the DSL/internet line. Make sure the DSL light is steady on and the internet light is on or flashing with activity.
May be your ADSL modem has clapped out it sounds like it.
You say you can connect via the PC modem that means the dialup is working......I imagine you have tried the ID logon and password for the ADSL also and it still wont connect. Try support at your ISP and if it still dont connect then it must be had it, you will need to buy another.
