Custom voices Hi guys. Can you customize the voices in the Garmin 550? I bought this for my wife last year and she hates the voices; not to mention the fact that they garble the pronunciation on a lot of streets. If not, is there another Garmin product that allows it. If not are there other GPS products that allow that? Thanks a bunch, Jason

Once you have transferred it using mapsource it won't automatically be in the custom routes. You still have to "import it from a file". Unplug your garmin from the computer then go to "Tools" then "My Data". That's where you should find the "import route from a file" button. It won't import if you already have 10 custom routes saved so you'll have to delete one.

I called the phne number 1-800-800-1020 ( I received from the free service list) and spoke to GARMIN customer service. The rep. ( Bill ) was so very nice. He was going to send me to the TECH. dept. but I had already tried re-setting my NUVI according to the trouble shooting directions. He said in most cases that's all it takes. I've sent my NUVI off to the address given to me and he said that they'd either repair or replace it within 10 days,, ALL AT NO COST TO ME!! Thank you FIXYA for the ph. number. Thank you GARMIN for the SERVICE. I can't wait to get my GARMIN NUVI 200 back, I enjoyed it when it was working . CHARLYNN
