Gaggia titanium plus machine gives error code: ventilate. Suggested using the turkey baster to prime the pump. Neither button 26 or turkey baster priming fixes the problem. Any ideas?

Machine stuck on ventilate, pressing button 26 does nothing.  no water comes through on rinse and steamer won't work.
Water flow in making coffee is very slow

Before you press water button to vent you need to restore to factory settings.

First press menu (far right button) then toggle to restore factory settings (using far left button), press menu button then far right again until yes comes up, then press menu button. Press esc button (3rd from left), machine should now be back to normal. Then press water button (3rd from right) and turn steam knob to vent until free water is coming through.

This is the only way I could get mine to work!

Another thing to check if water will not flow through the milk frother, remove it totally and try again.
I have had several of these blocked by old hard cheesy milk.
They need to be kept clean.
Hope this helps you.

Try completely taking everything out of the machine, coffee beans, water, brew stuff, etc.... Unplug machine. Let cool. Turn upside down several times, and roll the machine over. Barring this, nothing else has seemed to work. As an aside, it seems as though if you vent hot water though the steam pipe very moring for 5-10 seconds, this keeps the problem from cropping up so often. A pain, but effective.

Open fully hot water valve and dispense water until HOT WATER sign pops up on display. Machine is ready for use.

The Gaggia manual states: "After a long period of disuse, if the water tank has been completely emptied, you must reload the circuit before starting up the machine. The circuit must also be loaded every time the display shows the 'VENTILATE' message...Press pushbutton 26...When the heating-up phase reaches completion, the display will show: 'SELECT PRODUCT/READY FOR USE'."

Button #26 is the one with the water-drop icon on it...it is just to the right of the one you referenced above: button 25 which activates the grinder bypass for using preground coffee and has an icon of a scoop pouring ground coffee...

Try using the directions above making sure you press button #26. Hope this helps!

My Gaggia Titanium has an ventilate problem when it is stil cold. After starting up, autotest and running pump, it appears whit message ventilate. It takes a long time steaming or hot water after the

The ventilate sign appears as an error message to tell operator that the flow of water is reduced. I can tell that the machine has not been descaled or was descaled using unscrupulous products that are labeled as descaler but they are not.
Because the sign disappears at this time after flushing water through the steam pipe, the flow restores the sensing that water is flowing normal. This "apparent restoration" of water flow is without any back pressure. The espresso function is restored for limited use.
This error code if not corrected immediately, it will not disappear and not allow any function even after flushing water manually.
The flow meter registers the quantitative flow of water as programmed for espresso.
Please descale the machine as soon as possible. before the 'Ventilate' error message stops all functions.
This is a well designed machine. Needs more attention to maintenance.

Ventilate!....shows in window and machine will not ventilate when knob is opened. it has regularly been de-scaled but we do live in a hard-water area.

Generally you can clear the ventilate error by pressing the button for Hot Water and then opening the steam knob. You should hear the pump run and water should start to flow from the steam wand. If it doesn't, try removing the frother nozzle so just the chrome pipe is showing.

To remove the frother nozzle you slide the outer sleeve off, and then grip the nozzle with one hand while twisting the cap to loosen it. Then it should slide off the metal steam pipe. Or you can check that the tip of the nozzle isn't clogged.

If you have the frother removed and the steam pipe is definitely open and not clogged and you still hear the pump running but no water is coming out, the next step is to prime the pump.

If you still have the squeeze bulb pump that came with the machine, you can use that - or if you don't have it, a turkey baster will work. You want to take the water tank off and set it aside, then pump water into the valve in the center where the tank had been sitting. You choose "Hot Water" and open the steam valve so the pump starts and then pump water into that valve with the Turkey Baster. You should hear the pump catch and start to move the water - when this happens immediately close the steam valve so the pump stops - then replace the water tank (filled with water please) and open the steam valve again and let water run out of the steam wand for several seconds.

That should clear the ventilate message.

Hello I have a problem with y machine. I have got a message "Ventilate", and i have pushed the button 26, but nothing happens. What to do?

You need to push the hot water button on the machine panel to allow water to run out of the steam wand. After a few seconds the machines ventilate message should clear.

Ventilate message, then no steam coming out

Sounds like you have an internal blockage in one of the boilers.
Take it to your local service agent for repair.
Did you remove the milk frother and try the hot water again?
A blocked frother is a very common problem .

Ventilate shows, nothing works

There is an air lock in the hydraulic line of the machine, thats why it is calling for ventilate, if hot water valve is open and it is still calling for ventilate, then it is possible that the valve is blocked, it might be at top of the wand or at the tap rod assembly.

My coffee machine says "ventilate"

When it says to ventilate, it is asking you to prime the pump. Put acup under the panarello wand ( the steamer/frother) to catch thedischarged water and press the hot water button (upper left button onmy machine). Wait until air stops coming out with the water, usually3-5 ounces, and then press the hot water button again.

You machine is now ventilated (primed) and should be ready to go.

Ventilate

I fixed my ventilate problem! After 2 days of utter frustration and pushing many buttons, I read another guest comment about resetting to factory settings. Push the up button under the small coffee icon. It should say factory setting with the asterick next to it. Push OK. Then push "yes" for factory settings. Then my machine started working again! Hallelujah! It erased my personal coffee cup setting, but who cares.

Big thanks to the person who posted their solution on Dec. 2007.
