Question about Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder/VCR

1 Answer

Will not open

My dvd recorder won't open all of a sudden. The front gives the message "open," but nothing happens. I am not sure if there is a disc in there or not. I just bought the thing in August and it worked fine up until now.

Take it back to the store, if it is still under a year old.
If they fob you of with some bull just ask to speak to the manager, if he isn't in or wont help ask for the area manager.
AS LONG AS THERE IS NO DODGEY DVD INSIDE.

My DVR20KB has suddenly stopped playing and recording on DVD, I get the message Please eject the disc.Playback feature may not be available on this disc. What has happened and can it be corrected?

It could be dirt or finger marks on the disc. Try recording with a good new clean disc.
It's unlikely the current disc will play or can be used again. Have a look at the disc with it catching a light source. If there is any marks on the disc it's gone!

All my DVDs say "invalid" when I try and play. This just started all of a sudden. Was working just fine before.

Always first unplug for a minute and make sure the discs are VERY CLEAN. Sometimes my player/recorders give an error message 2-3 times but eventually are able to load the disc.

Hello

When operating, errors happen. Turn off the device.

(To turn off, press and hold the power button on the front
of the device for 10 seconds.)

After turning off, press the Open button and remove the
disc from the device
If needed reset the device to its factory settings after the disc is ejected. To reset it to factory settings:

Press the [UP] and [DOWN] buttons on

your DVD recorder simultaneously

when the power is on. All settings

including the password will revert to

the factory settings. Do not use this

unless absolutely necessary.

(Note that this function is possible only
when no disc is inserted.)
ok.

My DVD recorder doesn;t record. When I go to replay there is nothing on the Recorded list. (The message PSO is showing on the front of the recorder. Is this coneected?)

Ok recording is impossible.
1.this unit may not record programs that contain copy protection signal.
2.Check that there is nothing on the disc to start off with.
3.check that the disc is CPRM compatible.copy onc programmes can only be copied onto the disc which is CPRM compatible.
4.check if the the disc is protected or finalised.Undo the protection or the finalisation.
5.DVD-RW usually once formatted in another unit cannot be recorded in your unit unless formatted.
6.Check all connections are properly made.

Dvd disc not playing

Buy a cleaning disc for about $15.00. If that doesn't work it's time to buy a new one.

Sony dvd recorder rdr gx7 sending disc error message

The laser readerwriter is most likely burned out, it is the most common failure. The option of repair is not really feasible as the cost of new is really low.

Sony dvd recorder gx210

Without much more info the only thing I can think of is the lens is not homing correctly. If you are comfortable opening the unit, check to make sure the lens can move freely (from center to outside of disc). It's OK to gently move the lens with the unit unplugged.
