Question about Gateway Pocket DV-S20 Digital Camera

Memory full message, but no images

My son has had this camera for a long time and it has been very good, but after some recent rough use at the skate park, it has begun to display the message "Memory full" at power on. However, when we go to view images, the message says "no images." I have used Windows Explorer to see if the camera can store images and, indeed, I have been able to copy images to the camera (using it like an extra flash drive) and delete the images. However, when I copied images to the camera usign Explorer and then tried to see the images using the camera's menu system, I got the same "Memory full/no images" messages. There is no SD card in the camera. I have tried to remove the batteries and re-start the camera, but after re-settign the date/time, still get the error messages. I also used Explorer to "re-format" the camera's memory, which it did. However, the messages continue. I have not been able to figure out how to view the internal "working" memory of the camera, but I'm not sure even if I could that it would do me any feels like I need to somehow re-set the camera's "operating system" if that was possible. Any easy answers out there? Thanks! - Andrew and his pop

Internal memory card full

Hello, You need to either download the images to your PC or delete the images from the internal memory or you need to install a blank memory card in the slot and save images to that card.

I appear to have lost all my holiday photos due to a crash within the camera when the memory was reading full. Although the camera is not recognising any images on the card It still has a message saying...

you can try to get your images if you use an adapter for the memory card that connect to your computer then there is an application that recover files from a memory card

Hope it will help

My samsung s630 says the memory is full. I cleared photos from the sd card and internal memory, but still can only take four pictures in the lowest quality and size setting.

Memory card might gone bad but can do this following troubleshooting step. Formatting a memory ** This is used for formatting the memory. If you run [Format] on the memory, all images, including the protected images, will be deleted. Be sure to download important images to your PC before formatting the memory. Sub menus
[No] : The memory will not be formatted. Press the menu button three times and the menu display will disappear.
[Yes] : A [Processing!] message appears and the memory will be formatted. If you run FORMAT in Play mode, a [No Image!] message will appear. 1d36119.png
Be sure to run [Format] on the following types of memory card.
- A new memory card, or an unformatted memory card
- A memory card that has a file this camera can't recognize or one that has been taken from another camera.
- Always format the memory card using this camera. If you insert a memory card that has been formatted using other cameras, memory card readers, or PCs, you will get a [Card Error!] message. ** There might be bad sectors on your memory card.

Pictures being lost on camera.

It's a good bet that the images can be recovered fairly easily. There is image recovery software you can apply to the memory card that has good success in restoring the images. It is something you can purchase (the software), or have most photo stores perform for you. Most stores will charge on a per image recovered price structure.

Will not save to memory card

First, check to make sure the memory stick is not locked. There is a little switch on some of the cards that will protect the images stored on it, but will also keep you from saving any more. If that is not the case, then try deleting all the images from the memory stick using your computer. Then, format the memory stick using your camera, and try to use it again. Hope this helps!

Internal Memory is Full

Go into review, and then menu. Go to image storage and then set "auto" or memory card. You may have it set to store your images in the internal memory.

If Sony 'Repaired' it and the problem persist then they did not do a proper job. Send it back with a full explanation and demand a proper fix.
