Cable from pc to tv
so i bought a vga to rca adapter and hooked it up to the tv.
vga in: check
cable connected from female adapter to female tv: check (there's no red outlet on the tv though)
tv on input: check
i'm not getting any feed though. can anyone help please?

- no i haven't set the output video through the vga port. my laptop screen isn't working so this is my alternative. i was hoping it was simply 'plug n' play'Clarification Request

Have you toggled your laptop to output video through the VGA port? It is sometimes Fn-F8, but may be different on your model. Have you gone into Control Panel, selected Display or Personalization (depending on XP or Vista) to change the setting to multiple monitors?
