Problem for Hitachi 43UWX10B 43 in. Rear Projection Television
Press power button just clicks, no power. Found
Press power button just clicks, no power. Found this similar problem listed on website, but I have additional questions in regards to taking voltage readings. I tried looking for schematics but no luck. Can you help me define locations for taking readings and what is expected? I was given this unit in hopes to saving it. Previous owners had power supply changed. Like to verify voltages to elinmate PS and start looking at Convergence O/P IC's? What is next possible component? Would like direction.

- I checked the resistors and found no discoloration. As I was unsoldering the STK's I notice there was one that had a wire solder to a diode (DK25 to STK,IK04 Pin #1). This didn't look like it was done from the manufacturer as is wasn't bonded to the PCB. Any comment on this? I also noticed a red led (DP06) on the Deflection board coming on after plugging in the unit. What does this indicate? Any additional advise? Thanks for your help.Nov 06, 2009

The best thing to do here that is easy-----get at the two STK-392-110 CHIPS and un-solder both of them--if the set then comes on--one is bad--you might also take a close look at all the low value resistors around them--all have location numbers on the top of the board--like RK51 etc.
If you find a discolored resistor--or if unsoldering the chips lets the set turn on----you have found your problem.

- The jumper belongs there--it is usually a green wire and goes to pin on one of the chips.Did you try to turn the set on with the chips unsoldered?
