Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I am unable to get the printer to work at all. When I turn the printer on it goes through its initialisation process and when doing this it makes an intermittent 'clacking' sound. I have pin pointed the sound to the scanner drive unit where the scanner is trying to continue moving when it has reached the end of its range. I have taken off the top of the printer and checked the cogs and drive belts which all seem in good order.
I have also reinstalled the software and reset the factory settings, to no effect.
It seems to me that once the scanner has reached the end of its travel then it should be stopped by a switch of some kind and then allowed to continue in the opposite direction as a scanner does. My scanner does not do this for some reason.
Has anyone any experience of this problem or as anyone any ideas. Thanks for your help.

try connecting it to another computer. If it works, then it is a prblem with your computer, otherwise it is with your scanner hardware.
If you can open the scanner clean the circuit board with (Isopropyl alcohol) IPA solution. you can also try replacing the ribbon type cables connecting the print head.
If the problem arised due to dust accumulation, the above action should solve the problem.
