Well each time I put in one of my games the Wii starts this clicking noise.

I had played it for 10 or more hours and now it is sending me error messages and each time I put in a disk it starts to have clicking noise.

My Wii turns itself off about one hour into play. All lights go off and the only way to power it again is to unplug the power box from the back of the console and replug it in. Unplugging at power point doesn't help. This problem has only started since connecting to the internet, and I am wondering if the upgrade has changed some settings to enable it to 'auto shut off' after a while. I also have intermittent clicking but at this stage just ejecting the disc a few times fixes this.

Rub shoe polish into the disc and then put into the freezer for about half an hour. The disc may look alittel dirty but the polish fills the gaps and hey presto your game disc is like new. Enjoy.

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Have a game the wii wont read

Hi, Check and clean the disc. If the disc has too many finger prints it will be harder for the Wii to read. If that doesn't work try a laser cleaner disc. Good luck

Does not read the disc and makes a funny noise

If there is a bad noise coming from inside of your Wii when you are trying to load a game, either there is something stuck inside of the DVD drive or a part has fallen out of place. If you feel comfortable with it -- open up the Wii and check things out. Make sure the kids didn't put anything in the drive. If you're not comfortable with it, the following website does Wii repairs and sells the whole DVD drive unit for the Wii:

Wii reads disk, but won't play it

I've been suggesting this a lot today, but it works for me 9 out of 10 times. Hold the power button on the front of the console for at least ten seconds. The light should turn red. Give it a second, then hit it again and it will reboot. See if this makes a difference.

Noisy wii console

Hi Sky606, have you tried cleaning the game disk? Have you tried using other game disks in the wii to make sure it's not just one disk that is causing the problem. Do you have a Nintendo Wii CD / DVD Discs and Lens Auto Cleaning System ? If you don't you might want to purchase one and see if that helps, because your wii lens might need cleaning ! If all of that fails, your wii may need repairs, the lens that reads the CD/DVD could need adjustment or replacement ! One other small note,I always have a small external fan blowing on my wii when in use so that the wii wont over heat. Heat kills electronics ! I Hope this advice helps.

Try setting the console horizontal. That solved my disc read errors.

Unable to read wii discs

I had the same problem, I take it you have a modded wii(chipped), if you use a backup disc it is of a lower quality then original discs, the wii gets read errors without you noticing and tries to read those disc areas again sometimes suceeding and the gaming goes on, sometimes it fails, and a disc read error occurs. Over time the dvd assembly will take some damage it will loose it rigidity it once had and the wii stops reading discs. The problem gets worse if you have standing up, so first thing si to flip it down and try. Otherwise you (or someone you trust) will have to open the wii and adjust the lens sled so it wont flap as much up and down. Hope this helps..

Wii wont take in CD!

sounds like slot disc loading mechanism gearing is misaligned.. Slot drives are difficult to fiddle with, I suggest you try to get this repaired under warranty, (don't mention that you dropped it though, just say it stopped working)
