Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 Digital Camera
I bought this SOny DS-650 model 3 months back. These days i m facing a strange problem. Whenever i try to take snaps, after 1-2 snaps , it automatically shuts down . It does not restart after that. I tried to change the battery ( 2 1.5 V cell) ,still it gives the same problem.
Could anyone please help me finding out whats the exact problem ? Is there any other battery inside the camera besides 2 Cells .which is the best battery for this model ?
Would appreciate if someone could plz reply to this.
I have exactly the same issue. So annoying!!! Used 1 pair of original batteries that came together with camera, then bought lithum batteries. Used one pair of them, it was working perfectly. Insearted the second lithium pair, worked for couple of days and stopped. Tried rechargeable ones, don't make any difference, bought another pair of lithium batteries, still not working!!! Don't know what to do. Don't want to throw it away, because I've only used it for month or so. However, don't want to spend too much on fixing it. Has anyone tried to fix it? How much do they usually charge and where? Thanks for your help in advance.

I have the same camera and have had the same problem. The first time I had to change batteries I could not find lithium batteries and ended up trying alkaline batteries. I was only able to take 1 or 2 pictures before they would die and the camera would shut down. When I switched back to lithium batteries, everything worked fine. I hope this helps.

Camera needs to be reset...but not gonna be easy
take batteries out...hold down power switch for 15 seconds...then put batteries in and restart
if camera works...go straight to menu and reintialize all functions
this is a firmware/software problem that is not easily fixed...and Sony wants $91 to fix a $100 camera
keep repeating this until it works...may take numerous attempts...but this is how I got my camera running again

Same here...camera ran great first 12 months of light use. Now can take a handful of pictures and shuts down saying no battery left...even with brand new (and tested) batteries. Has anyone called Sony yet?
