Re: Yamaha HTR 5940

Even if you are able to find a replacement for the missing parts, how can you be sure the rest of the parts left there are working? it will be very, i mean very expensive to order the parts with yamaha for the missing PCBs

I have a rca no rtd250 impedance 12 ohms subwoofer. how do i connect it to my yamaha htr i need a special cabel where do i get it.

The Yamaha can only drive powered subwoofers. Make sure that the RTD250 has it's own amplifier built in, you won't be able to easily run it off the yamaha if it doesn't.( the powered subwoofer will have a mains cord to power if it's correct) If it doesn't have a amp built in, easiest weay is to buy a cheap powered sub.
Is the RTD 250 the sub fromthe RCA home theatre pack?

Turns on then off.

It probably needs a set of output transistors, 2 pre-amp transistors and a 5.6v zener diode. Possibly a resistor or two. I've fixed many of these. Definitely a job for a pro.

HTR-5940 6.1 Channels

Every time this has happened to me it was either due to incorrect speaker impedance or incorrect polarity (+/- wires reversed).
