It comes on for 15-20

This television has had a problem with component failure. It turns on and then when it turn off it is going into protection mode to prevent further damage. The circuits in the television will go into this mode when they sense unusual voltage or current levels in the circuits. This television need to be tested for faulty component operation. You need to take the set back to Emerson or the nearest authorized service center.You could call them and ask for an estimate and then decide whether to get it repaired or not.

Note - It makes sense to replace, if the unit is more than 4 years old and the cost of repair is around half the price of the new set.
