Question about Toshiba SD-K860 DVD Player

1 Answer

Loading malfuntion The "Loading" sign is blinking in the small window but the content of the DVD does not get loaded.  When this problem appeared first time I unplugged the cord a few tims and solved the problem.  After this problem happened 4 times in a month, no matter what I did (unplugging it and waited overnight to plug it back, changing the DVD disk, leaving the drawer empty) the loading sign still kept blinking and nothing is loaded. The machine is only 4 months old and not used much.  Is there a solution or should I just chuck it?.

Loading is blinking

Try using a cleaning disk for the laser eye. This is a special dvd with a brush grafted on it to clean off thedoirt on the laser. Hired DVD;s are often covered in greasy finger marks and other debris which gets transferred to the iris as the disk spins. this eventually clogs the laser and it can no longer do a load and often reports no disk.

Dvd player says loading then wrong disc

If it is disc made with a computer, you may need to convert the format to one that the DVD player is compatible with so it will recognize the disc contents.

Had a similar problem after loading a suspect dvd (one I had burned myself) Could not do anything - stuck at loading. Don't remember if the fan was running. From what I have read these units are touchy to bad disks (DVD or HDD) If yours has a DVD inserted try this :
  1. Unplug and wait 10 seconds
  2. plug it back in and wait 1 minute. DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS!
  3. With the machine still in the standby state, press eject on the REMOTE. It should eject without trying to read the disk.

Good luck. It worked for me.
