Problem for Bosch 24 in. SHU43 Built-in Dishwasher
Cycles are lasting 4 hours and the heating element
Cycles are lasting 4 hours and the heating element doesn't seem to be working

- It will drain with the cancel...the sanitize light does not come on...the heating element is not activating as it seems each part of the wash cycle gets hung up at 1 minute. I currently have a Sears technician coming to inspect the unit.Clarification Request

got the same problem with mine. I dont yet have a solution. sorry. will yours drain ok when you cancel the cycle? does your sanitize light come on after the cycle? .

dont know what the previous post is all about all bosch dishwashers contain heating elements!! yours has plainly failed when no heat is present the appliance will default to a 4 hour cold wash,the element is of the instantaneous variety rather like a power shower will need service technician to replace as involved repair for the novice.

if its a bosch there's probably not a heating element.
Check out the solutions at this link and be sure to read the comments at the bottom cause I think its a circuit board issue.

- did you solve your problem? could you provide an update? What did sears do? My problem was solved by resoldering a burnt out connection on circuitboard.Yes
