Sounds like you have a driver problem.
If you are running vista, go to your recovery manager and reload your hardware drivers.
If you are running xp, remove your video drivers and reload them from HP's website.

Why cant I log into home page?

Normally what I do is this:
Turn on the computer, press F8 a few times
Click safe mode with command prompt.
Type in this into the black box: net user administrator /active:yes
Restart your computer
You will now see an administrator account
Click on it, windows will start normally.
Move over your documents from your old account
Once you have everything, delete your old user account
Voila.

The user profile service failed the log in. User profile cannot be loaded. Windows Vista I can only access in safe mode and have tried changinging password and renaming user.

first make a hardisk backup of your files and then you should format your system because it cant be rapaired by that. clean install of windows vista is the solution.

My computer screen goes blank when I change the user

Hi, A(n) (recently) installed program is probably causing the problem, interfering with the service that takes care of the logon and -off process. To see if this is causing the problem, you can try the following:
Use this method if you remember around which date the problem started: 1. Click 'Start' -button 2. Type the following into the 'Searchbox': rstrui.exe 3. 'System Restore' opens 4. Select a date from which to restore your computer from. Needless to say, the date you choose should be a date on which you weren't experiencing the problem :-)
Use this method if you don't remember around which date the problem started: 1. Click 'Start' -button 2. Type the following into the 'Searchbox': msconfig 3. A system configuration window will show, where you can change the way Windows starts up 4. On the 'General' tab select the second option to boot diagnostically, loading only the standard devices and services. 5. Click 'OK' 6. Click on 'Reboot' 7. When you're computer has rebooted a message will show telling you that you've changed the way windows should start up and the system diagnostics window will show as well. 8. Since only standard devices and services have been loaded, try to logoff or change user and see what happens. If everything goes well, you know that a program, which should be a program you've installed before any problems started showing up, is causing the problem. If not, there's a corruption in the services of your operating system. 9. If everything goes well, you can start loading other services (from programs you've installed in your computer) one by one from the 'System configuration' window by clicking on the 'Services'-tab.
When you've found the the program that's causing the problem, delete it from your computer and select from the 'System configuration' window, 'General' tab the first option, for windows to start normally.
I hope this helps Good luck.

Laptop is on last loading screen, but freezes.

Speaking from a tech point of view, I would remove the hard drive and install it in a USB enclosure and attach that to another system as a "spare" drive. You can grab all your files by clicking on the USB, go to DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS, locate your user profile, click on it to list it's contents, click on "user" documents and the files should be there for you to grab

Once you get your files, format the system over. You can try holding down the INSERT key on boot but from what you are saying, something is loading prior to the last screen and clearing memory won't help.

Try restarting the computer and as it powers up hit F8. Then select Safe mode. when it shows the login screen you should see Administrator and whatever your user id is. Chose administrator and then once logged in go to control panel, select user accounts and select yours and then click remove password.
