No don't use window cleaner it will cause bad streaking. Just use water with a damp soft cloth and dy with soft cloth.

Have a look at the three lens this model should have, if dirty or dusty clean with a lens cloth, also peek inside and up to the rear to see if the mirror is dirty.

Can i clean the colored bulbs and reflector mirror or will that mess up the mirror?

You can use the same thing you use window cleaner. For the mirror. I don't recomend using any chemical on the CRT(the bulb you were refering to). They are coated with alluminum oxide if I am not mistaken to eliminated chromatic abberation. The mirror is fine.

THE PICTURE IS TOO DARK. It is not as bright as it used to be.

Normally when your picture starts to get darker or dimmer it usually means that the lamp is almost out, your are able to go to a page called discount-merchant.com they have good prices on tv lamps and tv parts also and they also help you with questions you may have.

Tv color not bright enough and just replaced lamp

Clean the small mirror in front that projects the image onto the rear mirror. The Rear mirror always stays good but the front small mirror gets dusty and the colors and bright levels get affected and appear dim.

Mitsu 65" DLP-picture seems washed out

Most likely cause of your trouble is dust on the small mirror inside you set. Your DLP set has 2 mirrors not including the DLP chip itself which has about 500,000 tiny mirrors. The 2 mirrors reflect the DLP chip image to the screen you view. The first is the main suspect it's about 4inches by 7inches. It's mounted on the bottom center facing backwards. This mirror faces slightly up and somtimes after time dust, smoke, dirt settles on it . The second fills the space of the entire back of the cabinet but it faces down and takes alot longer to get dirty.
The compartment is sealed but dust seems to find it's way in. If you remove the screws that secure the screen assembly from the top , sides and bottom. Make sure to have a friend available the screen assembly is delicate when it's not mounted to the cabinet. You can remove and clean the mirrors. These mirrors are glass and you can use glass cleaned. Don't use glass cleaner on the screen it's plastic. You can clean it if necessary with plastic cleaner only. Probably not needed.
Good luck.

Hitachi projection tv.7years old.can i clean or change the bulb,w

Remove the front screen

Carefully Remove it

Pull the bottom off
Then remove the screws on the bottom of the screen
when you have them off lift the screen assembly up

be careful of the wire going to the panel
you can move the screen to the side and gain acces with out unplugging the wire but again be careful
clean the mirror and the projection bulbs

with glass cleaner and spray only on to the rag not the mirror or projection bulbs

Put it all back together and your picture should be bright as before

Sony-kp51ws510 picture turns to a blue hue with flickering colors

hello there this is an easy fix unplug the tv and take the back of the set, once inside the set you will see 3 coloured bulbs and a big mirror in the back theses over time get dusty and dirty and if you smoke it can get really bad you simply just need to clean the bulbs and the mirror with computer screen wipes or some sort of window cleaner be sure not to get everything wet inside this should sort if for you nice and clear again!

Thanks For Using FixYa

Proector image is dim

I have changed the bulb on my LG projector recently. I found the rotating colour wheel to be full of dust. Upon opening the cavity where the light is redirected and reflected onto the imager, I saw all mirrors also had a layer of dust. I don't think it was so dirty that it affected the brightness of the image, but I cleaned it anyway using an earbud. I cleaned both sides of the color wheel as well. You need to be careful in working with the optics of the projector!
