Question on Phillips 43pp92 0217

We are having problems with our red pulling away from our blue in our color on the screen. It is also out of register with the blue and the green. We read on here from another answered post-that the convergence chips can be replaced. However, we need to know what chips correlate with OUR tv. It is a 43 inch. (43pp92 0217). Please advise us so that we can figure out how to fix this problem.

Thanks
Jay and Heather

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ,SOUNDS LIKE THE ELECTRIC FOCUS NEEDS TUNING IN .IF YOU FEEL OK WITH DOING IT YOURSELF TAKE THE BOTTOM BACK OFF ,BE VERY CARFUL NOT TO TOUCH ELECTRONICS ON BOARD .REMOVE THE CARDBOARD LINER ,BELOW THE CARDBOARD IS A LITTLE BOX WITH 3 ADJUSTERS ON TOP AND 3 ADJUSTERS ON BOTTOM,TURN THE TV ON A CLEAR CHANNEL,AND COVER FRONT WITH DARK COVER,HAVE THREE PEICES OF CARDBOARD READY ABOUT 6X6 INCHES ,COVER TWO OF THE THREE LIGHTS/CRTS WITH CARDBOARD ADJUST THE BOTTOM ADJUSTERS IN SEQUENCE WITH WHICH CRT YOU ARE ADJUSTING,YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE SCREEN FROM THE BACKSIDE WHEN COVERED.BE CAREFUL AND GOOD LUCK..DO NOT ADJUST THE TOP 3 ADJUSTERS..GREGG

May not be the chips. Try this: go to remote and press 062597 then status to get into the service mode. The menu after that is easy to follow. Hope this helps

Phillips 52 in big screen screen has a red tinge other colors come though but not very bright

Replace the coolant in the CRts a very common problem with phillips. The colors will get very dim and red will become domintae as red seldom needs replacement where as blue and green get congealed and the set will get dim hard to focus and you will see a glowing around green and blue objects. Heres a link to the coolant kit for a phillips which contains the replacement coolant and step by step instructions on CD with pictures on how to replace the coolant.

Phillips tv , double vision,

You have bad convergence IC's. Replace both the red and blue drive chips. They are easy to spot. They are mounted to large, finned heat sinks. The # on the chips starts with "STK-" and then there are numbers following. Both red and blue use the same part. There are 20 or so pins to unsolder\solder. These parts are available to the consumer from tritronicsinc.com. Good Luck!!

Red , Green And Blue.

Heres the best way to set a phillips screen controls. Go into the picture controls and set picture or contrast to roughly 75%, then set brightness to 50% and then set the color level completely off. Then adjust the screen with the 3 color controls untill you recieve the best black and white picture as possible. If you are unable to achieve a good black and white picture change the coolant in the green and blue tubes. But if you can get a good black and white picture stop there then turn your color level back up and the picture should be correct. Let me know if you need further assistance.

HELP! phillips 60PP92902

That model will usually have a couple 6.8ohm 1watt resistors that will get burned open when the ICs go out they are located right next to the ICs and they are all identical resistors often with no color bands just marked with 6R8 1WJ. Lift one side of the resistors out of circuit to check them with an ohms meter. radio shack wont have those resistors but you can get them at the following link.

No. your problem is related to the coolant in the green CRT has congealed with bacteria and needs to be changed. Thats what causes the halos and general poor picture and color quality. The blue should be changed also. The red for some reason doesnt seem to be affected by the bacteria problem. This is a common problem that happens with all projection TVs phillips and magnavox TVs
