Have had this model camcorder just a little over a year & now door won't open. Is it worth the money to get it repaired - any idea how much it will cost.

hitachi dvd cam bx35a dvd door wont open problem. Tried several times and it is completely inoperable. Need help...

It gets stuck on disc access, but it won't access. The disc eject won't work as long as it's stuck on disc access. I've also tried everything, but nothing seems to work.

Same issue - basically. Battery was running low, screen said disc error and shut down. Now won't eject no matter what I try...

mine started 11 mos after purchase. gets stuck on disc access. reset button does nothing. using ac power or charged battery does nothing.

not really a solution but a suggestion. i have contacted hitachi about this problem....they advised me to remove the battery for about a minute, put the battery back in the camcorder hit reset and then hold the disc eject button for ten seconds...didnt work for me but might work for you...

Same as you all. Stuck in disc access, reset does not work. Tried to take it apart, apparently screws are under the disc tray to prevent taking off the door to get DVD out manually

I have yet to figure out this same issue 4 years later and still won't open. Can't finalize any of my DVD discs so I can't even watch the DVDs I was able to record before the door jammed shut. Someone told me wolf camera was a great repair shop. I've just not had the time. Anyone with any knowledge of this I'm at yahoo and email is... Rileygurlzmom

How to reset unable to clean 50 on dcp-j125

Hi,
Try to reset Purge, it just might help.
1. press buttons OK, Menu, Mono Start one by one, followed by up arrow key four times. this should all be done as short a time as possible, around 3 seconds.

2. enter maintenance mode 80 by pressing the up/down arrow key and set key to select numbers 8 and 0

3. press blue MONO start button to select PURGE which requires it to be pressed a number of times before PURGE appears on the LCD screen of the printer

4. then use the up'down key and OK button to enter the reset code 2, 7, 8 and 3 keys to reset the counter : Note this does not overwrite the number next to PURGE on the LCD screen but once the last number is added it gets reset to 0000

5. press Stop/Exit key to go to root of maintenance mode

6. enter 9,9 to exit maintenance mode

Dvd won't play my dvd's. keep saying no disc or wrong disc. what is the problem

  • Hi, Sounds like the lens is just really dirty. Go buy a leans cleaner disk and run it through the DVD player two or three times to get the lens good and clean. Repeat about once a month to keep the lens clean and running properly. Sometimes you need to run it through 3 or 4 times to get the lens to read again.

  • These disks I speak of have little bristles on it that "sweep" the lens clean. I use them on all my disk players and they work real well.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

The off and on button seems to have quit operating. It needed new batteries. We installed them and then we are unable to turn the camera on.

As a first step towards resolving your issue, we recommend you restore
the camera's default settings. You can reset all of the menu and button
operation settings to default except for Date/Time, Language, and Video
System. To reset these settings, please follow these steps:

1. Take the memory card and battery out of the camera for 20 minutes.

2. Please use a clean pencil eraser to rub the contacts on the battery.
Please do not store the batteries in the camera for travel. The
batteries will discharge even if the camera is not powered on.

3. Place a fresh (or fully recharged) battery in the camera.

4. Turn the camera on.

5. Put the camera in picture taking mode. Ensure the display is on.

Disk error 13:02

SONY C:13:01 ERROR
1. cleaning the laser lens with isopropilic alcohol and q-tip
2. Try the reset button on the bottom of the camera. Tilt your camera and look below the LCD Display Backlight button on the bottom edge of the curved portion of the camera. You will need a paperclip or tip of a ball point pen to push the recessed little button. Place the camera on a level surface and try again. We find that the camera is very sensitive to tilting, as it gets older.
3. Make sure you format format at was FAT not fat32
4. All you need to do is "Quick format" the disk with the CAMERA rather than the memry stick plugged into the computer drive.
5. For sony error c:1301 using mini cd's: there is a program that recovers data from cd's that works with disk that have this error. It called "cdroller" Homepage is : www.cdroller.com
6. just take the memory stick off and re-insert it lot of times.. just keep doing it.

When done the machine turns off automatically, and you turn it onagain. Every time mine has stopped working this has fixed it. This might work with yours as well.

Unable to change the DVD 1 Command Mode back to DVD 3 (DEFAULT) SETTING

Had the same problem when I changed the factory settings by mistake. There is no "cancel" button in the remote or the set. What worked for me was to follow the directions on P. 22 of the manual and change the remote settings to DVD 1. This is done by holding the "Enter" button and pressing number 1 on the keypad simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. Then, you go back to the "Settings" screen with the "Settings" button, change the control back to DVD 3, and reverse the setting in the remote by pressing "Enter" and the number 3 this time. Remember to hold them down more than 5 seconds. Good luck!
