Question about Mitsubishi VS-5043 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Ws 65909 I have been out of town for a week and when I came home the green timer light on the front of the TV is blinking. I have unplugged it a couple of tomes hoping it would reset, but it did not work. The last month or so, the TV has taken a long time to come on or I had to turn it off and then on again to get it to work. Do you know what could be wrong? Thanks.

Re: ws 65909

I had a half power outage where everything turned half off, how I still dont know. Anyways I unpluged it and didn't plug it back in until the next day. When I did the timer light was blinking for an hour. I unpluged it for a couple hours more, then I plugged it in and waited for 1 min, unplugged it and repeated, then I plugged it and unplugged it 3 or 4 times in a row, plugged it back in and waited. 1 min. then poof the tv worked. YAAAAAA HOOOOOO!!!!

Power went off in house when it came back on the green light on the front panel keeps blinking will not stop Mitsubishi Bigscreen model ws- 65909

I've got a 65535. When this happens, you can sometimes press the On-Off button for 10-15 secs until the light goes off. If that doesn't work, then unplug the tv for 30 seconds or so, then plug back in.
These sets are known to have power supply issues, and the blinking light may be a coincidence to the power supply failure. It's fairly easy to repair if you know how to solder.

We have the dreaded blinking green "timer" light after we unplugged the WS - 65909. We can't get it to reset according to the owner's guide instructions.

The Digital module must be repaired. It is not booting up. When first plugged in the LED in that set will blink for 70 to 90 seconds. That is the amount of time it takes for the digital module to boot up. If it continues to blink past that time the module is belly up and needs to have some capacitors changed in it. Most reputable shops can do this in your home and average cost is between $150 and $250 depending on where you live.

Blinking green light

SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in.
CURE: Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B03, C9B13, C9B14, C9B17 and C9B18 (1000 uFD, 16V,
105C) on the DM Power PCB located within the DM Assembly. If they are bad, replace them with
part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
I have done one of these repairs and they are quite difficult so have a tech do this repair.
