Their is a disc stuck in my Toshiba HD-XA1

Thanks for using FixYa. Locate your DVD player’s manual Eject button. It is usually a small hole located underneath the DVD drawer.

Use a stiff wire,a paper clip or safety pin—into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.

Remove the DVD and see if there is a problem with it. Most DVD player drawers get stuck when a DVD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the DVD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.

To open the DVD player top to remove the cd/dvd manually--

  • Unplug the DVD player and take the outer casing of the DVD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.

  • Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending DVD tray finally comes to rest within the DVD player. It’s the part that holds the DVD loader in place.

  • Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don’t want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases.
Points to remember while performing above steps---

n Before you remove the DVD player cover, try turning the device off and then back on to see if the disc will come out after the machine has rebooted.
n Use the opportunity while you have the outer casing off to clean the lens of your DVD player.
n Never work on an electrical device that's still plugged in.
n Opening a DVD player may negate the warranty. Read yours carefully before you proceed.
