My D40 rolled off my couch and broke my flash. After watching a video, I opened up the flash and got the flash working, but now the flash won't pop up... After messing with multiple pieces (while reading...

Check to make sure the flash up switch on the side of the flash (the switch you see where the wires go through when you remove the flash top) is not under the activation rod on the pivot, the pivot is not pushed in, or the activation rod is not broken off. The switch should close when the flash goes up and be open when it is down. A lot of times you see the top contact stuck under the activation rod. Also check the continuity of the two thin switch wires as sometimes they are borken inside by impact

I am using dsc w 120 dgital camera now the flash is not working so i need to be working please tell ur idea

HI maxellbati,

Sometimes the flash does not work because of the manipulation in the settings,
Therefore , All you need to do is made sure that the NO FLASH mode is not activated ,

If it's activated then probably you would find an icon of flash with a cross line over it in the LCD.

Please change the mode to auto or flash every time and then the problem should be solved.

If not then you would have to get the flash replaced.

Let me know in case you have any queries.

Hope this helps ..:)

I have a Vivitar Camera that I bought from a Pawn Shop. The Flash worked fine for the first few months having it. I didn't use it for a while, and once I finally did, I heard 3 pops. After that my flash no...

The 8025 is a very cheap camera....I hope you didn't pay more than $15 at the pawn shop. Your camera has a blown flash tube. The camera could have been dropped in water by the previous owner. You could have bought one at Walmart that would have at least worked a little longer.

I cannot get my Nikon D70's flash to activate

I assume this is no longer an issue, given that more than a month has gone by without a response to my query.

How do you activate red eye reduction in the 5900?

To take photos with red eye reduction requires your flash to firerapidly before snapping the pic. Make sure camera is in record mode pres the 4 way switch with the lightning sign on it. The flash modes will pop up. select red eye flash.

To fix red-eye after a photo is taken. Bring up the photo in playback mode and press menu button. Red eye reduction should be available as one of the menu items. Otherwise, display the pic, press OK button in center and if you like the fixed picture then select yes to store it.

Camera flash problem (Nikon)

try to set the menu item for Auto FP to ON (it works in P,S, A, and M modes only) that will activate the Highspeed Sync when you are using the SB-600 flash unit, set the flash mode so the indicator shows the off position (the line thru the lightning bolt symbol) on the top inidcator menu in the its next to the red eye redution icon that will keep the built-in flash off even if you need it in low light. hope that works for you.

Activate flash

Here is the solution: Flash cannot be used in burst mode! You must set the camera to single shot mode!

This really surprised me, since in my old Konica Minolta the burst mode did not prevent flash, it just took a single picture if the flash was activated or multiple pictures when the flash was disabled.

Time for new flash??

the camera's light sensor or metering system, for correct flash exposure is no longer working, that's why your shots is either black or white (overexposed or underexposed) the flash firing has loose its control because of the defective sensor, it now only depends on the charge current of the flash capacitor. If you'll wait longer time the charge is maximum picture result will be overexposed(white), and vice versa, less charge, dark result, have the flash assy replaced. Daylight no problem, it doesnt use the flash circuitry, thanks
