Retrieving Pictures on the Camera

I have had my camera for a few years now and we have never had problems getting the pictures to our computer, however, there seems to be about 10 pictures that are permanently stuck on the camera or memory card and when I plug in my USB to copy the new pictures we take these picture never show up in the folder? However when we scan through the picture on the camera they show up? Any Suggestions? Thanks Pete

Does your camera have an internal memory, some do and can hold 5-10 depending on resolution. That might be the problem, if not try loading your memory card directly to the computer with an external card reader if your computer doesn't already have an internal one. It could be as simple as your USB cable or hook up too. If I understand correctly and any new pictures you take also stay stuck on the camera and won't upload then it's definitely your memory card acting up and it's time for a new one. If it's the camera itself, then it's and internal problem and you will have to get it repaired or buy a new, better one.

If you computer has a slot for it, plug it in and use windows to erase what you want. Otherwise try using a camera or another device that accepts sony memory cards.

Hello, i took some pictures a few days back, but theres some problem while retreiving some of the images....the image for the particular pictures having problem shows a blue blank screen with file...

Best way is to download the pictures to a computer through a card reader (optional). The blue blank screen could be deleted images using the garbage can icon. Retrieving those images can be done but it cost to have a recovery program used and there is no grantee that the images can be extracted because the card my have been written over or formatted. Once you have your images saved to a computer the memory card should be loaded bak into the camera and the memory card formatted to give a clean working surface for the camera to write new files to.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

When I try to download the pictures, the camera just turns off instead of initiating download

First download the latest drivers for your camera, then turn camera on, then hook to USB. (camera screen will look black) while it is hooked to pc.
Then transfer your pictures or sync device with media player

Retrieving deleted photos without memory card

Yes, you can get them back...but ONLY if you have not taken any pictures after you formated the camera. There are programs out there that use data recovery to get your pictures back, but like I said, If you have taken pictures on your camera after you did the format...nothing will work.

Hi Guys, l have a 16gb Panasonic SD card with all my USA pics and camera footage, when l try to view the pics a prompt comes up asking if l would like to format the card. Is there any way of retrieving...

YES THERE IS, BUT IT TAKES SPECIAL CARE AND SPECIAL SOFTWARE. MAINLY, DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD!! THIS WILL ESTROY THE MEDIA ON THE CARD. CONTACT A GOOD CAMERA SHOP OR COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP AND TELL THEM YOUR PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP YOU RECOVER YOUR PICTURES! FOR SAFETY SAKE, THINK ABOUT USING SMALLER CARDS AND WRITE PROTECT THEM AND ROTATE THEM WHEN ON TRIPS, THAT WAY YOU DON'T HAVE ALL YOUR PICTURES ON ONE CARD. OR YOU MIGHT THINK ABOUT USING A LAPTOP TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES TO AND THAT WAY YOU DON'T RISK LOSING PICTURES WITH CARD FAILURES. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RECOVER THESE PICTURES, EVEN IF IT TAKES YOU JUST A FEW CALLS. HOPE THIS HELPS! IF YOU NEED MORE HELP,REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217. IF THIS IS HELPFUL,PLEASE RATE! THANKS!

If you haven't done anything to the card since formatting it then you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.
