Re: cant turn on

I'd suggest bringing it back to the retailer an exchanging it for a new one, that is if there's still a warranty on it. Just explain the problem to the clerk.

My son took game out of console without powering off now screen is frozen and I cannot even power off have tried other games screen stays the same

You will need to remove the battery to get the DS Lite to turn off.

Get yourself a Philips screwdriver and a small flat headed screwdriver, then close the lid on the DS. Next turn the DS upside down with card slot facing towards you.
On the right hand side of the DS you will see a Philips screw head near the bottom, unscrew that screw and remove the battery cover. This will expose the battery itself. Use the flat headed screwdriver to gently pry the battery out from the right hand side.
Once the battery is out the DS will shut down. Reinsert the battey again and screw the cover back on.
Switch the DS on and it should work properly again. If it freezes again just repeat these steps.

My ds lite wont turn on. When I switch it on, The screens flash and it turns off again! It still charges, What ddo I do. I dont want to buy a new one!

Try removing the battery and putting it back in. Let it charge fully until the charge indicator goes away and then try again. If you are still having issues, it sounds like the device has become corrupted.

My DS Lite shuts off after a fraction of a second of being on. the bottom screen flashes but the top screen stays blank. I replaced the battery and it still does this. I fully charged the battery and it...

It's a problem with one of the LCDs. The DS Lite will do a power on self test -- if one of the screens has a problem, it will flash and turn itself off to avoid damaging the unit further.

DS will not turn on.

How can you tell if it's fully charged if it wont turn on? If your answer is that the light wont come on try to charge it, you're a few IQ points below average.

It's likely that the screen is either dead, or the battery is dead. Not just drained, the batteries inside the DS can die after awhile. There are plenty of sites that sell replacement batteries, use google to find them

Battery is fully charged but it still wont power up no lights when plugged in to charge

Hook up only the ac adapter to the DS to see if it turns on. If it does then we know the ac adapter works. We know the battery got fully charged but the system isn't turning on with the battery that is fully charged up.

I would say your battery is defective but you won't really know until you fully charge up a known good working battery and test it out.
